Oh the things you can do!

Fun in the Sun!

The recreational activities abound in stunning San Felipe. The Sea of Cortez provides a great venue for world-class fishing, sailing and kayaking. The surrounding mountains and windswept sand dunes offer a spectacular panorama for hikes, off-road activities, and rounds of golf at a nearby championship golf course. The community and recreational facilities offered at Playa de Oro and Playa San Rafael are first class experiences in and of themselves.

The Sea of Cortez, once referred to as the "Aquarium of the World" by Jacques Cousteau, will inspire the true ocean enthusiast.

Fishing: The warm, tranquil waters of San Felipe offer a tremendous variety of fishing opportunities. Bass, sierra and triggerfish are just a small example of what can be caught from the shore. If you venture further out, you will find yellowtail and corvina.

Fishing can be experienced in one of two ways; a panga can be rented in town (rates vary by season and number of people), or by contacting one of the agencies listed below.  Happy Fishing!

Jet Skis/Kayaking: Jet skis and kayak equipment can be rented at the main beach in town on a fist come, fist served basis.  Reservations can also be made at 011-52 (686) 571-4472.

San Felipe is also a land lover's paradise.  Although there is an endless list of activities for the water lover, so too is there for those amongst us who prefer to stay dry.

ATV/Off Roading: The beach areas in front of both Playa San Rafael and Playa de Oro are a off-roaders paradise.  Think of Cabo before 1990...The pristine white sand beaches serve as your own playground.  There are also several ATV trails for all levels of experience.  Although some will rent from the company listed below, most bring their own "toys" down with them.

Dining: Jimmy's Bar and Grill, located at Playa de Oro, is a local gathering spot and favorite.  Daily menu specials, as well as nightly entertainment, always keep the crowds happy.  Live bands and karaoke are just a small example of the activities at Jimmy's.  Are you a poker player?  Come join us for our weekly Texas Hold 'em Tournament.

Shopping: Some of the best shopping south of the border can be found the city of San Felipe.  Look no further than Avenida Mar de Cortez for all your shopping needs!

Golf: A championship, 18 hole golf course was just completed less than a mile from Playa San Rafael.  With stunning ocean, desert and tropical landscapes, this beautiful golf course is sure to please the avid golf enthusiast.

Or maybe you fancy doing absolutely nothing at all.  And who could blame you?  Once you experience the pool areas in both Playa San Rafael and Playa de Oro, you may never want to leave.  Maybe a cold drink, some great food, and a little relaxation is all you need.  Whatever you desire, it can be found here in beautiful Playa San Rafael and Playa de Oro.
